Guidelines For Nomination and Election Into the

Connecticut Hockey Hall of Fame

Our hockey Hall of Fame honors the men and women who have made significant contributions in the State of Connecticut by their participation as players, coaches, officials, owners, or worked in any other administrative capacity, plus as builders and media representatives.

CATEGORIES AND CRITERIA FOR INDUCTION

Individuals will be accepted in one of the following categories:  Player; Coach; officials; Builder or Media.  The media category may include sportscasters, photographers or journalists.

Players must have concluded their competitive careers.  Coaches, Officials, Builders or Media may still be active.

ELIGIBILITY FOR INDUCTION

To be eligible for induction in the Player category, the individual must: a) be a Connecticut native who played ice hockey at an exemplary level; or b) an individual who, while an active player, made a significant contribution to the sport of ice hockey in Connecticut.

The main criterion for selection to the Hall of Fame for the Coach, Official, Builder and Media categories shall be as follows:  Has the individual made a significant contribution to the sport of ice hockey in the State of Connecticut?   Nominees for these non-player categories need not have born in Connecticut, nor must they currently reside in Connecticut.

In addition, each individual's contribution may be different.  Also to be considered will be the nominee's ability, sportsmanship or character, or a combination of these qualities.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

We encourage members of the public to tender nominations for any eligible individuals who they believe are worthy for consideration for induction in any of the above categories.

The Hall of Fame Nomination Review Committee will also search and may select other individuals for nomination, particularly from the pre-1950 and 1951-1975 eras.

Nominators must complete the current nomination form which is available for download on our website.  Additional material is welcomed, but is not necessary for the selection process.

The annual deadline for nominations is November 1.
